Jimmy Butler's hair has caused a buzz on the internet, as the Miami Heat player attended media day with some eye-catching dreads. Previously, Butler had shown off his new look on social media over the summer, and claimed that his change came about to mess with fans and make the internet mad.
The funny thing about it is that Butler is clearly wearing hair extensions, as there is no way he would naturally look like that. In a joking tone, Butler claims not to wear extensions.
“I don’t have any extensions,” Butler said. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m trying out a lot of new looks. Ya’ll like my baby-face assassin look? It’s kinda cute isn’t it? I really don’t know. I ain’t even thought about it. I’m just messing with stuff to make the internet mad. That was my goal this summer, and it worked.”
The Miami player later assured that he will not keep his new haircut once the NBA season starts next month, so all this fuss has been a simple act of fun.
Jimmy Butler and the Heat came pretty close to reaching the NBA Finals last season, after losing in seven games to the Boston Celtics in a close series. Dreads or no dreads, Miami's small forward hopes to repeat a good season with his team, and why not, this time, reach the Finals.
The Heat start their schedule this year with a home game against the Chicago Bulls on October 19.
