One-Armed Basketball Player Impresses Scouts, Generally Dominates Life

This is a true "believe in your dreams" story from an inspirational basketball player.

Are you ready for some wholesome content? If you're needing a pick-me-up or having a rough day, be inspired by this story.

Hansel Emmanuel is a young high school basketball star from the Dominican Republic. He moved to Florida and plays for Life Christian Academy. He shows flashes of Rajon Rondo and Magic Johnson in the way he controls the ball, fakes passes and runs the floor.

At Life Christian Academy, he has averaged 25.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 3.4 blocks this season so far. Oh—did I mention he only has one arm? Watch this video of Emmanuel and other young basketball players impressing NBA scouts at the Iverson Classic.

Hansel Emmanuel Never Gave Up

When Emmanuel was six years old, he lost his left arm when a cinderblock wall came down on him. The wall trapped him for two hours, which subsequently required amputation below the shoulder. This hasn't stopped him from already having three division one collegiate offers, including one from the University of Memphis.

Even NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal had high praise for Emmanuel.

"I wish people understood how different Hansel Enmanuel is. He beat some of the best high school players with one arm."

Despite only having one arm, Emmanuel has secured his educational future by having the choice of good schools, he has won a dunk contest, has been featured in a J Cole video, and has 1.2 million followers on Instagram. His future is bright and nothing seems to stand in his way.

If that doesn't inspire you I don't know what will. Go get the world, Hansel.
