OBJ Stops By TNF And That's It for Good News For Rams

The Rams may have gotten waxed, but there were some old friends in the crowd.

The Rams got thoroughly trounced by the Bills 31-10 on NFL kickoff night, but the stars were out in force at SoFi Stadium. Celebrities like movie stars and NFL royalty are always around, but what about free agents coming fresh off a Super Bowl win? Odell Beckham Jr. was at SoFi Stadium on Thursday night. The last time NFL fans saw him there, the Rams were winning the Super Bowl.

Beckham Bedlam

Beckham scored the opening touchdown in the Super Bowl versus the Cincinnati Bengals but then tore his ACL in the second quarter of the game. Luckily, the Rams were able to famously tough that game out without him, winning 23-20. It was a renaissance season for Beckham, who had always come with a reputation of underachieving despite his immense talent. After the season, Beckham became a free agent. Rumors have swirled about where he might sign, or whether at this point in his career he might hang it up.

Forever Known For One Play

For my money, Beckham will at least always be remembered for the greatest catch I have ever seen. On November 23rd, 2014, Beckham made a catch that even Cris Collinsworth called the greatest catch he had ever seen. NFL never lets me embed these videos, so click that link.

Pass interference was called on the play, but Beckham made the catch anyway. Collinsworth and Al Michaels assume the play is dead because of the flags. Their brains did not allow the possibility that Beckham caught the pass—and why would they? That pass looks wholly uncatchable. It will always go down as one of the best, if not the best catch ever made.
