Cardinals Star J.J. Watt Hooks Fan Up After He Wrecked His Bet

Things definitely didn't go as Watt or the better expected

Arizona Cardinals star J.J. Watt is in the news again, and not for what you'd think. Most of the time, Watt is in the headlines for some incredible play(s) he makes on the field or, unfortunately, some injury he's sustained, which has happened to him more often than not in what is likely the twilight of his NFL career.

However, this time around, Watt is making news for what he did for a fan. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year responded to someone that tweeted at him about losing a bet that would've made them $1,000. Watt almost scored on a recovered fumble against the Los Angeles Rams last week near the end of the game, but the referees had other ideas.

In a remarkable twist, the fan received $1,000 from Watt and did something admirable with it. He matched what Watt sent him and donated all of the money to the J.J. Watt Foundation.

It's been a rough year for the Cardinals. The NFC West division was expected to be stacked and highly competitive, and the division didn't disappoint, with the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers looking like legitimate playoff teams.

The Cardinals, however, have found it tough to keep up and head into this week's matchup against the 49ers with a 4-6 record and desperately hoping to turn things around.

Although things haven't gone as planned for the Cardinals this season, Arizona still has an opportunity to right the ship, starting with their matchup against the rival San Francisco squad.
