'A League Of Their Own' Trailer Drops and The Series Looks Lit

The new Prime Video series has a little bit of everything, and right where it matters.

Stop me if you've heard this before. A beloved 90s movie is being rebooted. It is not just being remade into a movie, but a TV series. I've been vocal about how much I hate that Hollywood is doing this but I'll say this—this time it looks great.

A League Of Their Own

The 1992 film is a (cult) classic. It starred Tom Hanks and Geena Davis, along with other big Hollywood names at the time. It has classic lines and performances, and was perhaps a few steps ahead, progressively, of other sports movies at the time. I don't need to tell you the plot of "A League of Their Own," do I?

Hit Em With The Remix

The reboot is A TV version of the 1992 film and it is coming to Prime Video on August 12. It will star Abbi Jacobson, D'Arcy Carden, and Nick Offerman. You can view the trailer here.

Updated In A Good Way

Do you notice the glaring difference in this teaser/trailer? I sure hope so. The original film did not have so many people of color. One can surmise the issue of segregation (as the show is set in 1943) will be tackled in this updated reboot. There is a lot more you can do in a full-length episodic series, and we can hope the show will not be shy about dealing with racial issues. As a society, we should push for more equal representation in our modern entertainment and it's encouraging that this show has chosen to do this. It will be good if the series touches all of our hearts as long as we remember one thing.
